Jerry G. Forsyth

Jerry G. Forsyth, 60, of 19 Anderson Street, Mt. Jewett, died unexpectedly, Sunday, February 9, 2003 in Great Bend. Born September 8, 1942, in Elmira, NY, he was the son of Gordon and Ann Olsa Forsyth. On July 27, 1963, in Great Bend, he married Ellen Mead, who survives. Mr. Forsyth served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was employed as a respiratory therapist at the Bradford Hospital. He belonged to the Sportsman's Club, American Legion and the Veterans' Memorial Club, all in Mt. Jewett and the Kane Fish and Game Club. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his mother of Great Bend; three daughters, Major Lisa Forsyth of Korea, Susan Nogar of Independence, OH and Julie Boyer of Kane; six grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa Forsyth, Eddie and Sarah Zeitler, and Kristin and Matthew Boyer; a sister, Anne Darrow of Olean, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, John Forsyth. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. in Mt. Jewett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with The Reverend Phillip Pinczewski, pastor of St. Callistus Church, as celebrant. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice or "Fish for Fun" in Hazel Hurst.
